Paddle scenic rivers! Discover something new! Enjoy adventurous camaraderie! This multi-day paddling event follows the Stonycreek River, a 2011 nominated Pennsylvania River of the Year, and Kiski-Conemaugh Rivers on the edges of Somerset, Cambria, Indiana, Westmoreland and Armstrong counties in southwestern PA.
Once among the most polluted waterways in the Commonwealth, these rivers have made an astounding comeback and provide perfect opportunities to become acquainted with river sojourning. This sojourn offers 3 days of beautiful scenery with relaxing but exhilarating flat water paddle. Then for those who want the extra adventure, an adrenaline packed whitewater trip down the Stonycreek River Canyon is offered on Sunday.
You can sign up for all four days or each day individually, tent camping will be available. Thursday, Friday and Saturday paddling days only cost $15 per person per day and the cost of the whitewater day on Sunday is $40. And yes, you can participate even if you do not have a canoe or kayak. Outfitters can provide canoes, paddles, helmets & jackets for a small additional fee. Registration is open! Additional details also available here http://www.conemaughvalleyconservancy.org/recreation/skcs.html.
Deadline to register is Saturday, May 21! See our Brochure
