Interested in canoeing or kayaking but just not sure where to start? Don’t own your own boat but wouldn’t mind trying something new? Join SCRIP and the PA Fish and Boat Commission on Thursday, June 27 for a Paddle the Que event. Sign up for an hour session, during which you’ll learn about personal floatation devices (PFDs), water hazards, and paddling skills, then put your new found knowledge to test on the water during a 30-minute free paddle time. Try a canoe, kayak or tandem kayak.
Hour time slots begin at 5:30, 6:15, 7:00 p.m. at the Quemahoning Family Recreation Area at the Quemahoning Reservoir. Boats and time slots are filled on a first come first serve basis, so don’t wait to register. The fee is $5.00 per person (16 and older) $2.00 for (children under 16). Everyone must pre-register online by June 19.
