We will be having a semi-annual paddle on the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River on Saturday, April 29; from Ritchey Bridge to Bruce Penrod’s cabin (about 8 miles). This is a beautiful section of the Juniata River. Relatively flat with a few good riffles. Clean water and great scenery. Good for recreational kayaks and beginners. Bring a light lunch or snacks for on the river. We will have a cook out at Bruce’s place after the paddle. The club will supply meat (burgers, chicken, and maybe some other non vegetarian offerings), buns and such. Feel free to bring a covered dish or snacks and drinks for yourself (or to share). We meet at Bruce’s cabin (461 Penrods Bech Road, Hopewell, PA 16650) at 10 to drop off food and set shuttle. If you want, meet us at Ritchey Bridge, which is about 1.5 miles east of Rt 26 on Ritchey Bridge Rd. at 11 AM.
Donate to our Whitewater Releases.
Our Rendezvous is our main fundraiser to help pay for Whitewater Releases from Quemahoning Reservoir. We appreciate all of your support and donations that helped us keep the releases going in 2020 and into 2021. Our 2021 Rendezvous was a great success and will go a long way as funding for our releases. But we could still use any donations that our friends could make to make sure we can pay for future releases and maintenance costs.
