Our summer schedule for Middle Yough Trips will be:
Sunday – June 24 Note: due to high water, this trip has been rescheduled to July 1.
Sunday – July 22
Sunday – August 19
We typically meet at RamCat Put-In at 10 AM to drop off boats and run shuttle. Launch around 11:30. This is a beautiful class II river that is perfect for beginners to practice moving water paddling skills as well as a great river for experienced boaters to enjoy. This is typically a 3 hour trip (9 miles). Boats do not have to be registered. PFDs are a mandatory and must be worn. Usually these trips are lead by Steve Podratsky, Mike Burk, or Rick Bloom. Reservations are not needed but it doesn’t hurt to contact one of them in case the trip is cancelled. Note: if the Middle Yough is over 3.5 feet, this trip is not recommended for beginners.
Our summer schedule for full moon paddles at Quemahoning Reservoir will be:
Friday – June 29
Friday – July 27
Sunday – August 26
We typically meet at 7 PM at the Quemahoning Family Recreation Area beach. Launch at sunset and paddle to watch the moon rise. Later we have a bonfire, share snacks and swap lies about our paddling adventures. Canoes, kayaks and SUPs are all welcome. Boats must be registered or have a launch permit for use on Quemahoning Reservoir. PFDs are mandatory. Each boat should have a light. We have chem lights for everyone but many people light up their boats with battery powered LED lights. Folding chairs are recommended for relaxing around the fire after the paddle.
