DESCRIPTION:2026 Scheduled Whitewater Releases from Quemahoning Lake are scheduled and listed below. Releases during May and June are highly likely to occur as scheduled (unless maintenance or repairs are needed); releases after the beginning of July are dependent on reservoir levels. Also\, releases in September and October are very rare! Also note: the valve can only release up to 500 cfs; and the maximum flow (in the river\, measured at the Ferndale gauge) that a release can provide is 1\,350 cfs\, (which is around 3’ at Foustwell\, 4.5’ at Ferndale). If the natural flow is 1\,000 cfs\, we will ONLY RELEASE additional 350 cfs. If natural flow is over 1\,350 cfs\, there is NO RELEASE. Any changes in the schedule will be posted here and on our Facebook page ASAP! \nNote: If water level at the Quemahoning Reservoir is between 1626.0 and 1626.5 on the Sunday before a planned release\, then a release will be made on the following Saturday only; if the water level is greater than 1626.5\, then the release will be held on both thefollowing Saturday and Sunday. And if the level at the Quemahoning Reservoir is below 1626 ft above sea level on the Sunday before the scheduled release: the release is cancelled. This may effect late summer releases. SUMMARY:Border Dam Entry Ramp Construction
DESCRIPTION:Volunteers Needed\nWe are excited to announce plans for a new entry ramp at the border dam put-in! To get things moving\, we will hold a quick planning meeting on Tuesday\, September 8th. The actual build will take place over the weekend on Saturday\, September 12th\, and Sunday\, September 13th. We need plenty of hands to make this happen\, so please join us to help improve our local access! Volunteers will meet at 9:00 AM at Carpenters Park to set up the shuttle\, and we expect to wrap up around 3:00 PM each day. Best of all\, lunch will be generously provided by the BCC. Please remember to bring a pair of heavy-duty work gloves if you have them\, as we will be shoveling and handling stones. Mark your calendars and come help us build a better launch! \nQuick Details:\n\n\nPlanning Meeting: Tuesday\, September 8th \n\n\nConstruction Days: Saturday\, Sept 12th & Sunday\, Sept 13th \n\n\nMeetup: 9:00 AM at Carpenters Park (to set shuttle) \n\n\nTime Commitment: Roughly 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM both days \n\n\nPerks: Lunch provided by the BCC!
