DESCRIPTION:Join the BCC at the Johnstown YMCA 5-6:30PM for roll practice. A 5 week roll clinic will be held for beginners and open pool will be available for boaters that already have their roll. Cost is $5 per boater per session (and a paid 2026 BCC membership). Boats MUST be CLEAN. The YMCA will be charging the BCC $100 per class for dirt and leaves in their pool. We will be forced to have the perpetrator pay this bill. So clean them up folks. RSVP’s ONLY NEEDED if you need gear: boat\, paddle\, spray skirt. Otherwise\, just show up in back parking area 20 minutes prior. \n\n5-6:30PM Johnstown YMCA\n$5 per session (and a paid 2026 BCC membership)

DESCRIPTION:The BCC will host a beginners trip Sunday\, March 22nd (March 29th rain date). Running Greenhouse Park to Johnstown. Meetup will be noon at Greenhouse Park. Paddlers will need to have a wet exit\, and appropriate gear. Contact the BCC if you hope to join but need to potentially borrow gear. \nNOTE: This event was originally scheduled for March 15\, but has been rescheduled for March 22nd\, with a rain date of March 29th.

SUMMARY:2026 Red Moshannon Race (Headwaters Series)
DESCRIPTION:Held on a remote 7.5-mile section of Moshannon Creek between Peale Bridge near the town of Grassflat\, PA and the Route 53 Bridge near the town of Moshannon\, PA. At moderate levels this section of creek is rated Class II+ on the International Scale of Difficulty. High water significantly increases the difficulty. Extra flotation in boats is highly recommended. Most years there are numerous swims and bent boats! Cold water paddling clothing is highly recommended.
