January Meeting of the BCC

First BCC meeting of 2026 is this Wednesday, 1/21/26, at 6 PM, Crow’s Nest. Brave the cold and join us to discuss Roll Classes in February & March, the Rendezvous, and spring & summer trips and events.

Quemahoning Reservoir Whitewater Release Valve

Our whitewater release valve at the Quemahoning dam was severely damaged by a lightning strike a few weeks ago. We now know that the motor and wiring were “fried” and need replaced. This is both fairly expensive (right now estimates are over $10000) and possibly lengthy. This will likely mean no releases for a while, although we are experiencing a period of very dry weather and might not have been able to have releases anyway. We will keep you all informed as this situation evolves.

 

Last Day to Register for the Slip Clinic

The 2025 Slip Clinic will be held on the weekend of June 7-8.  Registration closes on Tuesday, May 27.
