Folks, this part of Pennsylvania is in the midst of a very dry spell. All rivers and reservoirs are low. Unless we get some serious rain, there will likely not be any more releases this year.
Turkey Bash will be held the weekend of Aug 3-4 and registration closes Wednesday, July 24. You will also need to submit the insurance waiver and skill survey by Thursday morning in order to attend. There is one important change from previous years – The dinner will be held at Tall Oaks Campground this year. There are no reserved sites. The July Full Moon Paddle will be held on Sunday, July 21st at Quemahoning Family Recreation Area. We meet at the beach area any time after 7 PM. We typically paddle out to see the full moon rise. It will be a bit late this Sunday with moon rise scheduled for 9:25 PM.
Boats must be registered or have a launch permit. PFDs are mandatory. Boats have to have at least one light. We have chem lights for those who don’t have a light. But many folks decorate their boats with battery powered LEDs for fun. We usually have a fire and many folks bring food and chairs. Please note that we have been informed that dogs are not permitted, and vehicles need to pay a $5 parking fee at the entrance. This is an official BCC event, we prefer that participants are club members or are planning on joining the BCC.
